Heatwave and Storm Warnings Issued Across France

Heatwave conditions are expected to intensify across eastern and south-east France over the weekend, with 21 departments under heatwave alerts today, rising to 22 on Saturday. Temperatures could reach 38°C in the Rhône Valley. Additionally, Météo France has issued 10 heightened alerts for storms, with gales up to 100 km/h and a risk of hail in parts of the Massif Central and Rhône Valley. Conditions in the southeast are also ripe for more forest fires.
