Red Flag Warning Issued for Critical Wildfire Conditions in Eastern Washington

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical wildfire conditions across much of eastern Washington for Saturday, August 1, 2026. Strong winds with gusts up to 45 mph, combined with dry conditions, warm temperatures, and low relative humidity, create a “particularly dangerous situation” for a large region east of the Cascade crest, including the Waterville Plateau, Okanogan Valley, Western Columbia Basin, Spokane area, Colville Reservation, and the Palouse and Snake River areas.
