Red Flag Warnings Issued for Central and Eastern Oregon as Wildfires Face Critical Fire Weather

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Central Oregon, including the Bench Fire area, for August 1, 2026, with extreme fire behavior expected due to critical fire weather conditions. Separately, a rare 'Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning' has been issued for most of eastern Oregon and Washington, encompassing the Rowe Creek Complex, where high temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds are forecast to lead to extreme fire behavior and challenge existing fire lines. The Bench Fire is 46% contained at 67,229 acres, and the Rowe Creek Complex is 57% contained at 313,439 acres.
