NWS Reno NV Issues Heat Advisory for Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties

A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM PDT this morning (August 2, 2026) for Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties in Nevada. The National Weather Service in Reno warns that overnight temperatures will only fall into the mid-60s to near 70 degrees, providing limited relief from the heat. This may increase heat stress, especially for vulnerable populations. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and check on relatives and neighbors.
