Multiple Flood Watches and Hazardous Weather Outlooks Issued Across Eastern U.S. Due to Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorms

The National Weather Service has issued Flood Watches and Hazardous Weather Outlooks for several regions across the Eastern U.S. In North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rain and localized flash flooding through Wednesday. A Flood Watch is also in effect for parts of central and western New York until late tonight, with heavy rainfall potentially causing flash flooding. Metro Detroit could see over 3 inches of rain through Sunday afternoon, leading to a Flood Watch. Additionally, severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, lightning, and heavy rain are possible in north and central Georgia, and a Flood Watch is active for Pittsburgh until midnight.
