England Under Heat Health Alerts Amidst Latest Heatwave and Ongoing Drought

Swathes of England are under amber and yellow heat health alerts, with temperatures expected to climb to the mid-30s. Amber alerts are in place for the East Midlands, East of England, South East, and London until Wednesday morning, while yellow alerts cover the North West, South West, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and The Humber. This follows record-breaking heatwaves earlier in the summer, and all of Wales and half of England are officially in drought after the driest July since 1931. The Met Office warns that August weather is not favorable for sustained rain to reverse the dry conditions.
