A Red Flag Warning is in effect for a large area of Eastern Washington for Friday and Saturday, August 7-8, 2026, due to dangerous fire weather conditions. Wind gusts of 20-30 mph and relative humidity levels of 8-30% are expected. While wildfire smoke is clearing from Western Washington, the west winds are increasing the risk of new fires and explosive growth in Central and Eastern Washington. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 1 "Elevated" fire risk for Friday.
