Typhoon No. 13 Approaches Japan's Okinawa and Amami Regions with Violent Winds and Heavy Rainfall

A powerful weather system, designated Typhoon No. 13, is making its closest approach to Japan's Okinawa and Amami regions on August 7, 2026. The slow-moving storm has already brought violent wind gusts exceeding 55 meters per second and nearly 200 millimeters of rainfall in parts of Kagoshima Prefecture over a 24-hour period.
