Fast-Moving Wildfire Forces Over 20,000 Evacuations in British Columbia, Canada

The Bald Range wildfire in western Canada has rapidly grown, forcing more than 20,000 people to evacuate their homes overnight in Summerland and Peachland, British Columbia. The fire, which started Friday evening, expanded to approximately 19 square miles within hours, destroying homes and causing power outages throughout the District of Summerland. Emergency officials describe it as one of the quickest-moving and fastest-growing wildfires the region has experienced.
