Heavy Rainfall Triggers Numerous Flood Warnings Across Southeast Australia

Extremely heavy rainfall has impacted parts of Victoria, South Australia, southern New South Wales, and the ACT, leading to numerous flood warnings. At least 13 locations in Victoria recorded over 100 mm of rain in 24 hours to Monday morning, with Mt Buffalo Chalet setting a new daily record for August at 165.6 mm. Moderate flood warnings are in effect for the Kiewa, King, and Ovens rivers in Victoria. The strong weather system also produced wind gusts up to 130 km/h.
