Severe Thunderstorm Risk Across Parts of the U.S. Midwest and Mid-Atlantic

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Day 1 Convective Outlook for August 10, 2026, indicating a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms. These storms are possible from parts of Illinois eastward to the Mid-Atlantic Coast, over portions of the central and northern Plains, and across southern Arizona. Thunderstorms with severe wind gusts are anticipated this afternoon and evening from northern Illinois into Pennsylvania. Additionally, severe gusts and hail are possible in parts of the central and northern Plains into the Midwest, with scattered severe storms expected over southern Arizona.
