43 French Departments Under Orange Heatwave Alert

Météo-France has placed 43 departments under an orange vigilance alert for a new heatwave episode, extending across western France. This includes 22 departments already under alert on Monday, with an additional 21 departments, from Charente to Manche, including Brittany, reaching this level from Tuesday noon. Temperatures are expected to climb between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius in the south, with overnight lows potentially exceeding 20°C in several regions. The peak of the heatwave is anticipated around mid-week.
