Typhoon Chan-hom Weakens to Tropical Depression After Japan Landfall

Typhoon Chan-hom, designated No. 15, made landfall in Japan's Ibaraki Prefecture before weakening to a tropical depression over the Sea of Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued warnings for potential landslides, lowland flooding, and overflowing rivers across northeastern to western Japan through Thursday. Thousands of homes also experienced power outages.
