Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has introduced an upgraded severe thunderstorm and tornado warning system. Forecasters will now utilize polygon-based mapping to define specific risk areas, replacing broader forecast zones. This enhancement aims to improve the accuracy and localization of alerts, reducing unnecessary notifications and better informing those directly in a storm's path.
