France is enduring its fifth heatwave, with Météo-France placing 80 departments under an orange heat wave alert. Temperatures are forecast to reach up to 40°C in some areas on Thursday and Friday. Additionally, 50 departments are under an orange alert for a high risk of forest fires, following a recent blaze near Rennes that affected 200 hectares.
