Dangerous Heatwave Persists in Central US with Heat Index Values Up to 111°F

The National Weather Service has issued Extreme Heat Warnings for portions of central, east-central, north-central, and northeast Kansas, and central and west-central Missouri. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values reaching up to 110-111°F are forecast to continue until Saturday evening, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
