Hurricane Warning Declared for Hawaiʻi Island as Tropical Storm Lala Intensifies

Tropical Storm Lala is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane, prompting a Hurricane Warning for Hawaiʻi County, effective Saturday. Tropical Storm Warnings are also in effect for Maui, Oʻahu, and Kauaʻi Counties. The storm is expected to bring 10 to 25 inches of rain, causing life-threatening flooding and mudslides, along with dangerous waves on exposed shores. This poses a significant threat to the Hawaiian Islands.
