Tropical Storm Lala is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it approaches Hawaii, with a Hurricane Warning in effect for the Big Island. Tropical Storm Warnings are also in place for Maui County, Oahu, and Kauai County. Forecasters predict 10 to 20 inches of rainfall, with localized amounts up to 25 inches, leading to potential life-threatening mudslides and flooding. Tropical storm force winds are already impacting parts of the Big Island.
