Hurricane Lala Skirts Hawaii's Big Island, Damaging Winds and Heavy Rain Persist

Hurricane Lala, a Category 1 storm, skirted Hawaii's Big Island without making landfall but continues to bring damaging winds and heavy rain. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect for Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau. Flash flood warnings were extended for the Ka'ū District, Big Island, where two homes were swept away due to intense rainfall.
