Tropical Storm Lala Continues to Affect Hawaiian Islands with Strong Winds and Flood Threat

Tropical Storm Lala, previously a hurricane, continues to impact the Hawaiian Islands, including the Big Island, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau. The National Hurricane Center reports sustained winds of 70 mph and widespread tropical-storm-force winds. Significant rainfall, with 10-17 inches already on the eastern Big Island and more expected, is causing flood watches and warnings, leading to flash flooding concerns and the opening of evacuation centers on Kauaʻi.
