Tornado Injures 41 and Damages Hundreds of Homes in Southwestern France

A tornado tore through the village of Pomas in southwestern France on Monday, injuring 41 people and damaging an estimated 300 homes, with some roofs ripped off. French authorities had placed swaths of the country's southwest on orange alert for storms. The event also caused power outages and transportation disruptions across southern France, including train delays and airport cancellations. Winds reached up to 73 miles per hour in nearby Arquettes-en-Val.
