A tornado tore through the village of Pomas in southwestern France on Monday, August 24, damaging approximately 300 homes and injuring around 40 people, with 15 hospitalized. The region was under a thunderstorm alert, experiencing wind gusts up to 117 km/h (73 mph). The severe weather also caused power cuts for 2,800 households and significant transportation disruptions, including road closures, train delays, and flight cancellations at several airports.
