NWS Forecasts Severe Thunderstorms Across Central US and Dangerous Heat in Southwest

The National Weather Service (NWS) anticipates severe thunderstorms across parts of the central and southern High Plains, central Great Lakes, and Ozarks on Wednesday. Concurrently, dangerous heat is expected to build across the Southwest U.S. through the end of the week, with daytime highs reaching 110-115°F. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the I-35 corridor, Coastal Plains, and parts of the Hill Country in Texas, where temperatures could hit 105°F with a heat index up to 109°F. A slight risk of severe storms, primarily damaging wind gusts, is also forecast for Arkansas on Wednesday.
