Met Office Issues UK Weather Warnings for Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain

The UK Met Office has issued weather warnings for a broad band of thunderstorms and heavy rain expected to move north across England and Wales. Accumulations of 20-30 mm in three hours and up to 50 mm in a 12-hour period are widely expected, with a small chance of more than 50 mm in three hours and over 75 mm in 12 hours in some areas, particularly over east-facing high ground. Lightning and hail are also anticipated hazards.
