Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Parts of California, Temperatures Up to 118°F Expected
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Santa Barbara County Southwestern Coast, in effect until 1:00 AM local time on August 28, 2026. Additionally, an Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for all of Riverside County until 8:00 PM PDT on Friday, August 28, 2026, with temperatures expected to range from 100 to 110°F for much of the region and 112 to 118°F for the lower deserts. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and avoid leaving children and pets in unattended vehicles.
