Tropical Storms Karina and Lowell Expected to Strengthen into Hurricanes in Eastern Pacific

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is issuing advisories for Tropical Storms Karina and Lowell in the Eastern Pacific. Both systems formed on Thursday, August 27, 2026, and are forecast to become formidable hurricanes in the coming days. Karina is expected to bring life-threatening surf and rip currents to portions of southwest Mexico and the Baja California Peninsula this weekend.
