Heavy Rainfall Brings Floods and Lahar Warning to Metro Manila and Luzon, Philippines

Heavy rainfall caused by the southwest monsoon has resulted in significant flooding across nine cities in Metro Manila and triggered a lahar warning around Pinatubo and Taal volcanoes. The state weather bureau forecasts up to 200 millimeters of rainfall for parts of Luzon through Tuesday, September 1, with Metro Manila expected to experience the heaviest rains through Sunday afternoon.
