Japan Issues Highest Emergency Warning for Heavy Rain in Kyushu, Nationwide Alerts Active

The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a Level 5 Emergency Warning for heavy rain in parts of Kumamoto and Kagoshima Prefectures in Kyushu, urging immediate evacuation due to "once-in-decades deluge." Widespread heavy rain alerts are also in effect across western and eastern Japan through Monday, with officials advising precautions against mudslides, flooding, swollen rivers, lightning, and tornadoes.
