Slight Risk of Severe Thunderstorms Across Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, Carolinas, and Northern/Central Plains

The NWS Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Slight Risk (Level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms for Saturday, September 5, 2026, across portions of the Ohio Valley, southern Mid-Atlantic, and Carolinas. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, with isolated occurrences of large hail and severe wind gusts also possible in parts of the northern and central Plains. Thunderstorm development is expected Saturday afternoon and evening along a cold front and residual convective outflow.
