Hurricane Marie Continues to Produce Dangerous Beach Conditions Along Baja California and Southern California Coasts.

The National Hurricane Center has issued Advisory Number 22 for Hurricane Marie. As of 8:00 AM PDT (1500 UTC) on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Marie is centered well west of Baja California, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 80 kt. Swells generated by Marie will continue to affect portions of the coast of southwest Mexico, the Baja California Peninsula, and Southern California for the next few days, likely causing life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Coastal flood and high surf advisories are in effect for Los Angeles and Ventura County coasts.
