Hurricane Warning Issued for Kauai County as Lowell Approaches Western Hawaiian Islands
Hurricane Lowell is moving north-northeastward and is forecast to approach the Western Hawaiian Islands. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Central Pacific Hurricane Center have issued a Hurricane Warning for Kauai County, including the islands of Kauai and Niihau, and parts of the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. Lowell currently has maximum sustained winds of 115 MPH (185 KM/H). Residents in the warning area are urged to rush preparations to protect life and property.
