Red Flag Warnings in Effect Across Five US States for Critical Fire-Weather Conditions

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Red Flag Warnings for parts of Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Idaho, and South Dakota. These warnings are due to a combination of very low relative humidity, dry vegetation, and gusty winds, creating critical fire-weather conditions. Most warnings are in effect for the afternoon and evening of September 10, 2026, and are expected to expire between 20:00 and 21:00 MDT, or 21:00 CDT (02:00–03:00 UTC on September 11). These conditions could contribute to extreme fire behavior.
