Tropical Storm Norbert Strengthens in Eastern Pacific, Moving Westward

Tropical Storm Norbert has formed in the Eastern Pacific and is expected to gradually strengthen as it moves westward over the next several days. As of 2:00 PM PDT on September 10, 2026, maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Norbert is currently far from Hawaii, but some long-term models suggest it could approach the Hawaiian islands as a hurricane later this month. The National Hurricane Center forecasts gradual strengthening over the next few days.
