Excessive Heat Advisories Across Parts of the Southern U.S., Including Texas and Arkansas

Multiple heat advisories are in effect across parts of the Southern U.S. In San Antonio and the Interstate 35 corridor of South-Central Texas, a heat advisory is active until 7 p.m. Saturday, with heat index values up to 108 degrees. Central and East Texas, including Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and Bell counties, are also under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Saturday, with temperatures between 103 and 106 degrees Fahrenheit and heat index values up to 108 degrees. A Heat Advisory is also in effect for most of southwestern, southern, and west-central Arkansas, where heat index values may reach between 105 and 109 degrees. Dangerous heat and humidity are expected, posing risks of life-threatening heat illnesses and increasing fire danger.
