Tropical Storm Norbert Continues Westward in Eastern Pacific, Expected to Weaken

Tropical Storm Norbert is centered near 17.9N 130.5W, moving west at 10 knots with maximum sustained winds of 40 knots and gusts to 50 knots. It is expected to continue on a westward track, with little change in intensity for the next 24 to 36 hours, followed by gradual weakening and degeneration into a post-tropical remnant low by the end of next week. Marine warnings are in effect for the Eastern Pacific, and a Gale Warning is active south of Clarion Island. Additionally, an area of low pressure several hundred miles southwest of Mexico's coast has a high chance of forming a tropical depression within the next 48 hours.
