National Wildfire Preparedness Level 3 Maintained Amidst Active Fires Across US

The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) reports the US remains at National Preparedness Level 3. There are 57 large fires actively being suppressed nationwide, with 5 new large fires reported. Over 2.5 million acres are involved in active large fires, and more than 13,000 firefighters and support personnel are committed. Several fires threaten residences and infrastructure, including the Moonshine Fire in Wyoming and the Lucas Fire in California.
