Typhoon Surigae Approaches Japan, Threatening Okinawa and Kanto Regions

Typhoon Surigae, a very strong typhoon, is currently near Okinawa Prefecture and the Amami islands, bringing warnings for high waves and violent winds. The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts its northeast path towards the Kanto region, potentially making landfall as a severe tropical storm around Thursday. This poses a risk to an area still recovering from Typhoon Dujuan.
