Hurricane Rachel Weakens Slightly to Category 3, Swells Affecting West-Central Mexico and Baja California
Hurricane Rachel has slightly weakened to a Category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph, passing just north of Socorro Island. It is expected to remain a hurricane for several days, and swells generated by Rachel will cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions along the coast of west-central Mexico and the Baja California Peninsula through the weekend.
