Tropical Depression Nine has developed in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Isaias, potentially becoming the first hurricane of the 2026 season by Thursday. The system is expected to reach the northern U.S. Gulf Coast by Friday, bringing significant rainfall of 3-6 inches, locally up to 10 inches, to areas from southeastern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, alongside gusty winds and hazardous surf conditions.
