Amber Wind Warning Issued as Storm Austen Approaches UK, Threatening Power Cuts and Disruption

The Met Office has issued an Amber wind warning for Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and parts of West Devon, effective from 3 am to 10 am on Friday. Gusts could reach 60-70 mph widely, with up to 80 mph for exposed headlands. A wider Yellow warning for wind is also in place across southern Britain from Thursday evening into Friday. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and carries a high likelihood of power cuts and disruption to services.
