Marginal Risk of Severe Thunderstorms Forecast for Southern and Central Arizona

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms for parts of southern and central Arizona for Friday. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, with potential for damaging wind gusts and large hail. Scattered convection is expected during the afternoon along the Mogollon Rim and within surface troughs, supported by modest buoyancy and increasing effective shear.
