National Weather Service to Use "Particularly Dangerous Situation" Wording for Severe Winter Warnings

The National Weather Service (NWS) is introducing "Particularly Dangerous Situation" (PDS) language for selected blizzard and ice-storm warnings this winter. This new designation aims to highlight storms of "historic severity" that pose an "imminent danger to life and unprecedented disruptions to emergency services," urging immediate action from the public.
