European Union Releases Funds for Hungary and Allocates Defense Aid to Poland

The European Commission has reached an agreement with Hungary to release €16.4 billion in EU funds, which were previously frozen over rule-of-law issues. Concurrently, Poland has received an initial €6.6 billion payment from the EU's defense financing program, becoming the largest beneficiary of this security instrument.
