NATO Prioritizes Energy Security and Establishes Arctic Task Force

NATO's Deputy Secretary General underscored the importance of energy security for defense and announced the creation of Task Force X-Arctic to improve situational awareness in the Arctic and High North. This initiative aims to address activities by Russia and China in the region. Member states have also committed to raising defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035 to bolster deterrence and defense capabilities.
