NATO Announces Reduction in Kosovo Peacekeeping Troops

NATO has declared its intention to gradually decrease the number of personnel in its KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. This decision stems from an assessment indicating an enhanced security situation within the region. The KFOR force has been present in Kosovo since the conclusion of the 1998-1999 conflict, currently comprising 4,600 troops.
