United States Proposes Tariffs on 60 Economies Citing Forced Labor Concerns

The U.S. Trade Representative has proposed new tariffs on imports from 60 economies, including the EU, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This action stems from a USTR report concluding that these economies are not adequately enforcing import bans on goods made with forced labor. The proposed tariffs would cover nearly all U.S. imports from these nations, replacing previously imposed tariffs.
