Deadly Heatwave Grips Europe, Causing Drowning Deaths and Disruptions

An intense early-summer heatwave is sweeping across much of Europe, prompting red health alerts in several countries including France, Spain, and the UK. France has reported 40 drowning deaths since June 18 as people sought relief, and the extreme temperatures are causing school closures and travel disruptions.
