Ukrainian drone attacks cause extensive fuel shortages in Russia

Ukraine's intensified drone campaign has resulted in Russia's most severe nationwide fuel shortages in years, with at least 17 regions implementing restrictions on gasoline and diesel sales. Recent strikes have reportedly disabled the Kapotnya refinery until late 2026, and also targeted a significant natural gas processing plant and two satellite communication centers. This indicates a strategic effort to disrupt Russian infrastructure.
