US Launches Strikes on Iran Following Drone Attack on Commercial Ship in Strait of Hormuz
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and radar sites. This action was in response to Iran's drone attack on the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely on June 25 while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. called Iran's attack an "unwarranted aggression" that violated the ceasefire and undermined freedom of navigation. Iran's Revolutionary Guards had previously warned against unauthorized crossings of the Strait.
