Humanitarian Funding at 'Rock Bottom' Halfway Through 2026, Warns Norwegian Refugee Council

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) issued a stark warning on July 1, 2026, stating that humanitarian funding for some of the world's most neglected displacement crises is at an alarming low. Halfway through the year, only 30% of the funding needed to support 143 million people has been received, leaving millions abandoned. The NRC highlighted that 2026 is a 'make-or-break year' for those in desperate need across various regions, including Venezuela, Sudan, Iran, Gaza, and Ukraine.
